The year was 1947 when J.W. McElhaney, in the family garage, began what we know today as McElhaney Upholstery. In 1972, J.W.’s only son, Kenneth joined the family business. After two additions to that garage, they moved the business to the current location which sits on Highway 58 North across from Chattanooga Central High School.
McElhaney Upholstery prides itself on three principles. Personal service for each client, an atmosphere of integrity and excellence in our shop and most importantly, quality craftsmanship. We believe it is the commitment to these three principles that McElhaney Upholstery has been so blessed to serve the families of the Chattanooga area for nearly 70 years.
The McElhaney family is pleased to announce that in January of 2017, Matthew McElhaney will step into the role his father Kenneth, and grandfather, J.W. once held. As Kenneth moves into a part time role, Matthew will be the third generation to run the family business.
Our clients, who we count as friends, can be assured that when you trust your furniture to us, the same service, integrity and quality is what you will experience.
We look forward to year 70 and beyond.
